Connecticut Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees are proud to announce a $6,300 donation to Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity, as part of return of their Home Run Donation Program for the 2018 Hartford Yard Goats regular season. Once again, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees in Connecticut donated $100 for every home run hit by a Yard Goats player at Dunkin’ Donuts Park during the regular season to the Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity. These funds will be allocated toward Hartford Habitat’s Main Street project as part of the revitalization of North Hartford, where Dunkin’ Donuts Park is located. This donation is up $200 from last year when the Hartford Yard Goats hit 61 home runs at home during the 2017 regular season, resulting in a $6,100 to Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity.

To celebrate the ongoing partnership, Dunkin’ Donuts invited Hartford Area Habitat representatives and families to enjoy the Yard Goats’ Closing Night game on Thursday, August 30, 2018 in the Dunkin’ Dugout, the special community seating section in Dunkin' Donuts Park. Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee John Coughlin presented Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity Corporate Engagement Manager Christina D’Amato with the commemorative check on-field prior to the game.

“As our work to revitalize North Hartford continues, we are grateful for the continued support of local Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees, through their Home Run Donation Program” said Christina D’Amato, “This partnership directly impacts a family here in Greater Hartford and assures they have the opportunity to achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life for their family.”

“Connecticut Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees are committed to the local community and are proud to partner with Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity once again for this home run donation program,” said Molly Loh, Dunkin’ Donuts Integrated Marketing Manager. "Dunkin’ Donuts Park is a major part of the revitalization of Downtown North Hartford, and we’re excited to support Habitat in their mission to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope in Hartford.”

Additionally on field at the final home game, Dunkin’ Donuts and Hartford Habitat celebrated Playhouse winner Kim Lowman of East Granby. Before the start of this season, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees and Yard Goats staff participated in a “Playhouse Build” event. The Playhouse Program is new to Hartford Habitat in 2018 and helps bring joy to local children while furthering their mission of building homes, community, and hope in Greater Hartford. Fans entered for a chance to win the playhouse, with all donations benefitting Hartford Habitat. Kim Lowman, her husband Travis, and their 2-year-old son Max were all excited to attend the Yard Goats game and collect their playhouse for Max to enjoy at home.
