East Hartford Woman Accused Of Driving Drunk In Crash

EAST HARTFORD, CT — An East Hartford woman has been arrested in connection with a crash that happened more than seven years ago near The Shops at Buckland Hills.

Cari Jo Hitchcock, 52, of East Hartford, was taken into custody Tuesday on an active warrant stemming from a November 2018 motor vehicle accident in the area of 769 John Fitch Blvd. in South Windsor, according to police.

Investigators determined Hitchcock was operating under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, authorities said. An arrest warrant was later sought and approved.

Police said Hitchcock was located in Enfield and turned herself in to the South Windsor Police Department on Feb. 24. She was processed and released on a $1,500 non-surety bond.

Hitchcock is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on March 16 at 9 a.m.
