Elderly Blind Dog Dumped In Hartford Has Died
Hartford Animal Shelter said that they believe the dog was around 15 years old.

HARTFORD, CT — An elderly blind dog who was found dumped in Hartford was euthanized Thursday morning, Hartford Animal Shelter said in an update.
The dog, who the shelter named Brooke, was found wearing a dark blue sweatshirt that says "Bad Fur Day," a camouflage harness, and rosary beads wrapped around her front paw.
The shelter initially asked for tips on who might have abandoned the dog, but a few hours later shared an update that she had to be euthanized after caretakers learned she was "suffering from one of the worst cases of pyometra," a uterine infection.

"She passed away, peacefully, surrounded by caring hands, and kisses on her head," the shelter wrote. "Yes, she is at peace but this did not have to happen the way it did. There is no reason for any animal to suffer needlessly. RIP BROOKE."
