End Hunger CT! Releases Campaign For GivingTuesday

See below for more details on the program.

From End Hunger Connection: End Hunger Connecticut! (EHC!) is excited to announce its participation in GivingTuesday, an annual worldwide donation movement that brings people together to make a difference on one day and inspires good for days beyond. The movement lasts all day on Tuesday, December 3.

Participants are encouraged to be creative and design campaigns surrounding their own GivingTuesday movement. Thus, EHC! debuted its social media campaign, titled “#ReasonstoGive,” on November 18 with a “GivingSchoolMealsDay” theme. Each week leading up to Giving Tuesday, a different theme will be released, accompanied by social media posts detailing noteworthy programs, services, outreach, etc. within that theme throughout the week.

“The idea is to show people that they’re not just putting donations into an online box and wondering where it goes,” said EHC! Executive Director Robin Lamott Sparks. “When you give to End Hunger CT! on Giving Tuesday, you are not just giving dollars. You’re giving meals to families through our work to increase school meal availability to children, SNAP assistance to families, policy changes that help our families become self-sufficient, and more. You become part of what we do.”

GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 as a simple idea: to create a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity, according to the organization’s website.

Those interested in joining End Hunger Connecticut!’s GivingTuesday initiative can visit www.givingtuesday.org or find the direct link on EHC!’s social media platforms when released on December 3rd. People are also invited to follow EHC! on all social media platforms to stay up to date with its #ReasonstoGive campaign leading up to the big day.
