Hartford Boys & Girls Clubs Celebrate Interns' Impact
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford recently said goodbye to four celebrated interns as part of a Bank of America youth leadership program.

HARTFORD, CT – A well-known nonprofit group serving boys and girls in Hartford recently said goodbye to four interns who spent their summer working for the community.
Bank of America sponsored four greater Hartford-area students – three rising seniors and one recent graduate – as "Student Leaders" for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford.
The interns completed an eight-week, paid summer internship that gave them first-hand experience serving their communities.

"As part of the program, the students developed leadership skills and gained practical experience while working with the local nonprofit," wrote Bank of America in a statement.
The quartet of interns at Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford were:

- East Hartford resident Mya Bynoe, a rising senior at Pathways Academy of Technology and Design in East Hartford.
- Manchester resident Jaysen Stolarz, a recent graduate of the Sport and Medical Sciences Academy in Hartford, where he served as the student council president.
- Hartford resident Isabella Gonzalez, a rising senior at the Connecticut River Academy in East Hartford.
- Hartford resident Ariana Whitley is a rising senior at Weaver High School in Hartford.
Since 2004, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford has partnered with Bank of America's intern program.
“The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford, our longstanding partner, has helped inspire and prepare our Student Leaders to enter the workforce,” said Joe Gianni, president, Bank of America Greater Hartford. “Championing jobs in our community not only connects young people to education and job training but helps create a stronger pipeline of diverse talent to fuel our local workforce and economy. Each year, I am moved by our Student Leaders’ commitment to developing their leadership skills and addressing critical issues facing Greater Hartford.”
As part of the program, the Student Leaders participated in a week-long, all expenses paid, national leadership summit in Washington, D.C.
Started in 2004, the Student Leaders program annually recognizes 300 community-focused juniors and seniors from across the U.S., according to Bank of America.
