Hartford Drug Dealer Sent To Prison For Drug, Gun Convictions: Feds
The Hartford resident dealt Fentanyl and crack cocaine, among other narcotics, according to authorities.
HARTFORD, CT — A drug dealer from Hartford was sentenced to more than five years behind bars by a federal judge on Tuesday for various drug and gun convictions.
According to Vanessa Roberts Avery, U. S. attorney for Connecticut, Jahquan Blackwin, also known as “Mula,” 27, of Hartford, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Bridgeport to 66 months of imprisonment, followed by four years of supervised release, for trafficking narcotics and possessing guns.
According to court documents and statements made in court, in June 2022, the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Hartford Task Force began investigating Blackwin and others for distributing fentanyl and cocaine in the Hartford area.

In July and August 2022, investigators made four controlled purchases of fentanyl from Blackwin, Avery said.
Blackwin was taken into custody on a federal criminal complaint on Aug. 17, 2022.

On that date, a search of Blackwin’s Judson Street apartment revealed approximately 750 grams of fentanyl, 500 grams of cocaine, 32 grams of crack cocaine, 700 grams of psilocybin, and five kilograms of marijuana, items used to process and package narcotics, and approximately $15,000 in cash, Avery said.
Investigators also found and seized two loaded Polymer 80 handguns (“ghost guns”), one of which was fitted with a high-capacity magazine, and a loaded Glock 43X handgun, she said.
Blackwin has been detained since his arrest.
On Feb. 23, he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl, 28 grams or more of cocaine base (“crack”), and 100 grams or more of heroin.
