Following the Flatbush Avenue fire, the Red Cross provided emergency assistance to two families — eight adults and three children — whose homes were affected.
The organization supplied a recovery envelope with information on post-fire cleanup, contacting key agencies, and handling damaged belongings.
Displaced residents also received comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, and shaving supplies.
The Red Cross said the affected families will connect with caseworkers in the coming days to develop longer-term recovery plans.
Separately, the Red Cross assisted one family — one adult and three children — displaced by the Center Street fire.
The organization said its disaster relief assistance is made possible through donations and volunteer support.
