Hartford Flood Aid Program Officially Online

There are multiple ways to apply for flood-damage reimbursement for residents of certain flood-prone areas of the city.

HARTFORD, CT — City residents in a flood-prone area of town can officially begin the application process to get much-needed aid, according to state Rep. Maryam Khan, D-Windsor.

Khan, who represents a parts of Hartford, Windsor and South Windsor, released detailed information Tuesday on how folks can apply for flood aid.

She said the Hartford Flood Compensation Program is officially live at osc.ct.gov/HartfordFlood.

In-person support is available at Blue Hills Civic Association, 1229 Albany Ave., Third Floor, Suite 306, Hartford. Residents should call 860-560-7360 for hours and information.

Established through the adoption of the governor's 2024-2025 biennium budget, this $5 million pilot program will be overseen by the Office of the State Comptroller (OSC) and administered by Dr. Gary Rhule, Khan said.

According to Khan, the program is charged with providing financial assistance or reimbursement to eligible owners of real property in the city of Hartford who experienced damage caused by flooding on or after January 1, 2021.
