Hartford Heroin Dealer in Enfield Fatal Overdose Sentenced to Prison
The man pleaded guilty to selling heroin to an Enfield man who died from acute heroin and fentanyl toxicities.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A Hartford man who pleaded guilty possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of, heroin in connection with a 2016 fatal overdose of an Enfield resident was sentenced to prison Wednesday.
Aaron Gyambibi, 27, also known as "E," was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge Janet C. Hall in New Haven to 60 months imprisonment, followed by five years of supervised release, according to Deirdre Daly, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
According to court documents and statements made in court, on the morning of May 7, 2016, Enfield police and emergency medical personnel responded to a report of an unresponsive male at an Enfield residence. Responders found a 31-year-old male in the bathroom of the residence and pronounced him deceased. Officers seized two bags of heroin that were in the victim’s fist, and a needle set that was nearby, Daly said.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the State of Connecticut subsequently determined that the victim died from acute heroin and fentanyl toxicities. The investigation, which included analysis of the victim’s cellphone, revealed that the heroin ingested by the victim shortly before his death was purchased from Gyambibi, Daly said.
Gyambibi was arrested on Nov. 16, 2016, and pleaded guilty on March 23, 2017.
