Hartford Man Dealt Large Quantities Of Fentanyl, Heroin: Feds

A city man was sentenced in a drug-dealing case.

HARTFORD, CT — A local man has been sentenced to 4.5 years in prison for distributing heroin and fentanyl, according to a statement from federal prosecutors. Angel Gonzalez, aka "Spider," 41, will also serve three years of supervised release.

Gonzalez's arrest in July 2018 came following an investigation into an organization that was selling large amounts of heroin, fentanyl and other narcotics in Hartford. Gonzalez made street-level sales of heroin, fentanyl, cocaine and crack cocaine on behalf of this organization, according to the statement.

A search of Gonzalez’s residence revealed 33 grams of fentanyl that was packaged for street sale, approximately 19 grams of crack cocaine, $4,147 in cash, and other items.

He was indited along with 15 coconspirators Aug. 2, 2018. In June, he pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute heroin, fentanyl, cocaine and cocaine base (“crack”), according to the statement.

The Drug Enforcement Administration’s Hartford Task Force includes personnel from the DEA Hartford Resident Office and the Bristol, Hartford, East Hartford, Manchester, New Britain, Rocky Hill, Wethersfield, Windsor Locks and Willimantic Police Departments. Agencies assisting the investigation include the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Connecticut Department of Correction, and the East Hartford, New Britain, Newington and West Hartford Police Departments.
