Hartford Man Enters Plea On Weapons Charges
A Hartford man is accused of possessing a firearm with an extended magazine.
HARTFORD, CT — A city man has entered a guilty plea to federal weapons charges. Anthony Pena, 25, pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Pena was arrested in June of last year after police found him in a parked vehicle with a loaded Glock 21 .45 caliber firearm with an extended magazine, according to a statement from prosecutors. The firearm had been reported stolen in North Carolina in 2012.
Pena was previously convicted of first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, and first-degree failure to appear.

He will be sentenced in October and face a maximum prison term of 10 years.
This case is being investigated by the FBI’s Connecticut Violent Crime Task Force and the Hartford Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer R. Laraia.
