Hartford Man Guilty Of Raping Underage Girl: State
The 31-year-old will be sentenced early next year for raping an underage girl and giving her marijuana, according to authorities.
HARTFORD, CT — A state jury has ruled a Hartford man was guilty of sexually assaulting an underage female in 2021, with sentencing slated for early next year.
Sharmese L. Walcott, Hartford State’s Attorney, said Monday a jury in Hartford Superior Court on Oct. 22 found Jeffrey Hicks, 31, of Hartford, guilty of one count of illegal sexual contact with a minor and risk of injury to a minor.
Citing evidence introduced at the trial, Walcott said, on Feb. 24, 2021, Hicks provided a minor female with marijuana prior to sexually assaulting her at an apartment in Hartford.

The defendant was arrested by warrant after an investigation by the Hartford Police Department, she said.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Meredith Clark and Assistant State’s Attorney Stacey Cox, with the assistance of investigator Pedro Rivera and inspector Derek Sutton.

Walcott said she would like to thank victim advocate Bridget Koestner of the Connecticut Office of Victim Services for her assistance.
Connecticut Superior Court Judge Kevin C. Doyle presided over the trial.
Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 6, 2025, in Hartford Superior Court.
