Hartford Man Wins Large Powerball Payout

The winning ticket was purchased at a Hartford store.

HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford man hit it big with a recent, multi-state Powerball jackpot drawing ... though not that big.

Still, the winner's $150,000 payout probably will come in handy.

According to the Connecticut Lottery Corp. on Tuesday, the winning ticket was purchased at the Sam's Quick Stop store recently at 9 Asylum St., Hartford.

Powerball is a multi-state drawing game that has a minimum payout of $20 million, but its jackpot has gone into the $1 billion range.

Currently, the jackpot sits at more than $461 million.

It costs a $2 minimum to play, with $1 add-ons possibly increasing the winner's share.
