Hartford Opens Cooling Centers To Beat The Heat
The cooling centers are open during the heat wave.

HARTFORD, CT — The City of Hartford has cooling centers open for residents this week, and those are listed below. The Hartford Fire Department Special Services Unit is also handing out water to residents throughout the city with the CERT team and the Fire Cadets.
Residents are urged to stay indoors during the hottest hours of the day to the extent possible, and to stay hydrated.

Health Tips for Warm Weather from the Centers for Disease Control:
- Stay cool and stay hydrated.
- Drink plenty of fluids, regardless of your activity level.
- Wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.
- Never leave anyone in a closed, parked vehicle, including pets.
- Visit older adults or others at risk at least twice a day and closely watch them for signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
