Hartford Opens Daytime Warming Centers

The City of Hartford has issued alerts on how folks can stay warm in the cold if they need shelter.

HARTFORD, CT — The City of Hartford has announced that temporary daytime warming centers will be open today (Friday, Feb. 3) due to extremely cold conditions forecasted for the remainder of the week.

“We’ve enjoyed relatively warm weather this winter season, but with this blast of extremely cold weather, we want to make sure every resident has access to warm shelter during the daytime,” said Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin. “I encourage all residents in need of warmth and shelter to visit one of our warming centers, and I want to thank our fire department and health and human services teams, as well as Catholic Charities, for stepping up to provide these warming centers.”
