Hartford PD Warns Of Phone Scam
Police said a caller is pretending to be a police officer and demanding money for allegedly missed court dates and/or arrest warrants.
HARTFORD, CT — City police are warning people of an uptick in complaints from residents about phone calls from those claiming to be Hartford Police Department officers.
The HPD said in a statement Friday that callers tell the victims they've missed a court date or have an arrest warrant, then they demand some form of payment.
These are phony calls, the HPD said, and are not legitimate.
