An alert neighbor notified police that the suspects had entered the home while the homeowner was away on vacation.

HARTFORD, CT — Acting on a tip from an alert neighbor, police were able to snare a pair of burglary suspects inside a Brown Street home late Monday morning.

At 11:50 a.m., Hartford police officers were dispatched to 276 Brown Street for a reported burglary in progress. A neighbor, who advised the homeowner was on vacation, witnessed two suspects enter the house, Deputy Chief Brian Foley said.

Officers responded covertly, and located and detained two suspects inside the house. Investigation revealed the suspects made entry through a back door by removing a piece of window glass. Contact was made with the homeowner, who advised nobody should have been in his house, Foley said.
