Hartford Wine Bar Announces Closing

A downtown Hartford wine bar has announced it will close permanently.

HARTFORD, CT — Bin 228 Wine Bar has closed down permanently after more than 18 years in business, according to The Hartford Courant.

A post on the establishment's Facebook page reads: "Well, that’s a wrap. Thank you to every person who walked through my doors. Most of you came as guests or employees and so many have left as friends. The bin has has been your place for first dates, birthdays and anniversaries. I am beyond grateful to all of you for helping to make my dream come true. I hope in some small way we made your days brighter and hope you will remember bin fondly. Thank you for letting us serve you for 18 amazing years. To my fiercely loyal crew….you worked your asses off and made me proud. You always had my back and YOU guys made bin what it was. It was a hell of a good run! I love you and I thank you. Bit of a gut wrench pushing that squeaky, heavy door closed for the last time."

The Pearl Street bar and restaurant offered "fresh, small plates and over 55 wines by the glass."
