Hartford's American Legion Fined For Brawls On Site: State

In addition, the Legion's liquor permit was suspended for a day in late August.

HARTFORD, CT — The local American Legion Hall has been fined by the state and its liquor permit has been temporarily suspended for a day.

According to the state Department of Consumer Protection's Liquor Control Commission, the American Legion, located at 2121-2123 Main St., Hartford, was fined by state authorities for a history of brawls and disturbances there.

State officials said the Legion has already paid a $1,250 fine, but it will have its liquor permit suspended for a day on Monday, Aug. 26, when it will not be able to sell or serve alcohol on site.

The violation was regarding "conduct of permit premises," namely a recent history of brawls and disturbances on the site, state officials said in a notice.
