Heroin Possession Charges Filed Against 3 Hartford Men

They were also charged with possession of heroin with intent to sell, police said.

HARTFORD, CT — Hartford police happened upon a disturbance inside a vehicle Tuesday afternoon, resulting in the arrests of three men and seizure of a large amount of heroin, marijuana and cash.

The arrests took place around 12:06 p.m., when vice and narcotics investigators were traveling north on Maple Avenue and observed a disturbance coming from inside a vehicle parked outside 20 Maple Avenue. Officers safely made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and discovered a large amount of narcotics in plain view, Deputy Police Chief Brian Foley said.

The occupants of the vehicle were detained, and no one claimed ownership of the narcotics. All three men were subsequently arrested, Foley said.

Michael Nieves, 26, Ericson Gonzalez, 21, and Manuel Gonzalez, 21, all of Hartford, were each charged with possession of narcotics and possession with intent to sell. Nieves was additionally charged with violation of probation, and Manuel Gonzalez was later remanded to parole, Foley said.

Police seized 453 sleeves of heroin, 5 grams of raw heroin, 2.9 ounces of marijuana and $859 in cash, the deputy chief said.
