Holiday, Jazz and Latin Jazz Parranda 2022 at Real Art Ways

HOLIDAY, JAZZ AND LATIN JAZZ PARRANDA 2022 Saturday, December 3rd | 7:30PM Real Art Ways | Hartford

HARTFORD, CONN. Real Art Ways welcomes back trombonist, composer, and arranger Papo Vázquez and his band the Mighty Pirates Troubadours for an annual concert and holiday parranda on Saturday, December 3rd at 7:30pm. The parranda is a participatory event. Patrons who bring an instrument and play along will receive free admission. Real Art Ways is located at 56 Arbor Street, Hartford. Tickets are $10.00 general admission.

Parranda de aguinaldo (Christmas folk music), is an Afro-Indigenous musical form played during the holidays in various Caribbean and Latin American countries including Puerto Rico, Cuba, Trinidad, and the coastal area of the states of Aragua and Carabobo in Venezuela.

About Papo Vázquez:
Papo Vázquez is a trombonist, composer, and arranger. He has 40+ years of career spanning Jazz, Latin and Afro Caribbean music. He is a national Endowment for the Arts Master Artist and Grammy Nominee for his group Mighty Pirates Troubadours.

About the Band of Pirates:
Papo Vázquez & the Mighty Pirates Troubadours blends multi-faceted compositions and trombone style with rhythms of Afro Caribbean origins and jazz.
