Jason Aldean Runs Off Stage After Heat Illness At Hartford Concert

The Xfinity Theater said in a statement that the singer suffered a heat stroke, though Aldean followed up with his own thoughts.

HARTFORD, CT — Country singer Jason Aldean abruptly ended his show Saturday after he suffered a heat illness on stage, the Xfinity Theater confirmed in a statement Sunday morning.

According to the theater, the singer suffered heat exhaustion, though in his own statement, Aldean said he believes it wasn't "quite that serious."

In a video shared to Twitter Sunday afternoon, Aldean said that he's had a lot of people checking up on him after the show and wants to let everyone know he's "doing fine."

"Just one of those things. I was hot, I was playing golf all day yesterday ... It was a combination of dehydration and heat exhaustion," Aldean explained. "I hear a lot of stuff going around, heat stroke and all that stuff. I don't think it's quite that serious, but it was pretty intense last night at the show."

The high temperature in Hartford on Saturday was around 89 degrees Fahrenheit, still sitting at 82 degrees around the time Aldean's show was set to begin at 7:30 p.m. The humidity on Saturday averaged 80 percent.

In a video shared on Twitter by CBS Austin anchor John-Carlos Estrada, Aldean can be seen struggling to get through his 2009 song "Crazy Town," pulling away from the microphone and turning his head away for a moment before turning and running off stage without saying a word.

Aldean added that he "know it was coming" but was just trying to get through the rest of the show.

"Eventually it was just like...I know it wasn't going to happen, and I was trying to get off stage and figure out what was going on," Aldean said. Later in the video, Aldean said that he is "feeling a lot better" after he was given a couple of re-hydrating IVs after her got off stage Saturday and another Sunday.

The theater said that the show will be rescheduled for an upcoming date and told fans to stay tuned to its social media channels for updates as they become available.

"To everybody that came out to the show last night, thank you guys so much for being there," Aldean said in his video. "Obviously it's not the way I wanted the show to end; not what I was hoping for on our first week on the tour by any means ... I apologize for cutting the show short, but we'll come back and make it up to you."

Aldean took the stage again Monday, playing at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs in upstate New York.

He is currently on the Highway Desperado tour, which kicked off in July and will continue on his North American trek through late October.
