Lunch Forum In Hartford To Address Substance Abuse Issues
The free event Wednesday, March 12, is being hosted by the Capital Region Council of Governments and the University of Connecticut.
HARTFORD, CT — Community leaders and activists will gather Wednesday afternoon for a special lunch forum in Hartford addressing the problem of substance abuse in the community.
The program will take place in the CCC Room at the Hartford Public Library, 500 Main St., from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12.
Hosted by the Capital Region Council of Governments and the University of Connecticut School of Public Policy, the forum/lunch will address "local interventions to address substance use disorders."

It is the first part of CROG/UConn's series called "CT Policy Talks: A Series on Issues That Matter to Connecticut Residents."
Panelists include: David Mitre Becerril, assistant professor, UConn School of Public Policy; state Rep. Tracy Marra, R-Darien; Mark Jenkins, founder and executive director at CT Harm Reduction Alliance; West Hartford Police Chief Vernon Riddick; and Mallory Deprey, director of recreation and community services, City of New Britain.
This free event requires registration and a complimentary lunch will be provided.
