With Main Site Closed, Hartford Public Library Expanding Hours At Branches

A pipe burst over the Christmas weekend had prompted the temporary closure of the Hartford Library's Main Street location.

HARTFORD, CT — A massive pipe burst at the Hartford Public Library's downtown site has prompted that facility's temporary closure for a few months so repairs can be made.

As a result, while that library is temporarily closed, Hartford Public Library has redeployed staff to expand hours at branch locations.

Branches now operate on the schedule below as of last week:

Albany Library
1250 Albany Ave.
Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Barbour Library
261 Barbour St.
Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Barbour Library

(On the second and fourth Thursday of each month, Barbour will only be open from 3 to 6 p.m. to accommodate the Connecticut Foodshare distribution)

Camp Field Library
30 Campfield Ave.
Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Dwight Library
7 New Park Ave.
Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Park Street Library @ the Lyric
603 Park St.
Monday-Thursday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday: 1 to 5 p.m.

The Boundless Library @ Rawson (260 Holcomb St.) will reopen for public service from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning the week of Jan. 16.
