HARTFORD, CT — Office vacancies continue to plague downtown Hartford, as a major employer has said it will cede about 150,000 square feet of leased space, according to The Hartford Business Journal. Travelers Cos., an insurance firm, will give up most or all of the company's leased space in the Gold Building at One Financial Plaza.

The company won't be shrinking the number of employees in downtown offices. Instead it will be consolidating office into properties the company owns.

The move is expected to impact 1,000 employees who work downtown and have been working remotely during the pandemic.
