Man Dies In I-84 Crash In Hartford

HARTFORD, CT — A Bristol man is dead following a crash on I-84 East in Hartford Saturday evening, according to state police. Jesse Perez, 31, of 71 Williams St., died in the wreck.

Police said that Perez was driving a 2005 Toyota Corolla in the right lane about half a mile west of Exit 46 at 6:28 p.m. He then drove into the left shoulder and struck the metal beam guardrail for an unknown reason.

Perez was transported to St. Francis Hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

The crash remains under investigation.
