Manchester Man, 22, Charged After 2023 East Hartford Fatal Crash: CSP
The accident happened on Nov. 16, 2023, on Interstate 84 in East Hartford, resulting in the death of a teenage passenger.

EAST HARTFORD/MANCHESTER, CT — A 22-year-old Manchester resident has been charged in connection with a fatal motor vehicle accident in East Hartford in November 2023.
According to Connecticut State Police on Tuesday, Jeremy Ramos, 22, of Manchester, was charged with speeding; operating a motor vehicle without minimum insurance; reckless driving; failure to maintain lane; second-degree manslaughter; and first-degree reckless endangerment.
Ramos turned himself in at the state police Troop H barracks in Hartford on Monday after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police said he was released from custody on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on Jan. 2, 2025.
On Nov. 16, 2023, Ramos was driving a Honda Accord in the center lane of Interstate 84 West near Exit 56 in East Hartford at 5:45 p.m.

The Honda struck a semi-truck's rear that was also driving in the center lane.
The Honda then veered across traffic into the left lane, returned to the center lane, and hit another tractor-trailer.
Ramos suffered minor injuries and was transported to Hartford Hospital.
The Honda's passenger, later identified as Yomar Berrios, 18, of East Hartford, was transported to Hartford Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
No other injuries were reported.
