June 8: The Mouth-Off with Chion Wolf: Kids Will Be Kids How have we done this show for 6 years and never had a kid-themed evening of stories? June 15: Get A Clue Murder Mystery Tours Play our live-action version of the classic board game in an hour-long tour featuring the famed comedy troupe Sea Tea Improv portraying Twain’s beloved characters, who are also the suspects! Get A Clue Tours provide all the murder, mayhem, and merriment you expect in a whodunit. Tours start 7 pm. Sponsored by Webster Bank. $25 / $20 / $17.

June 16: Free Admission Day for Hartford Residents! We’re opening the doors to The Mark Twain House & Museum for ALL Hartford residents! Just bring proof that you live in a Hartford zip code to the ticket desk and we’ll let you in for free! Specialty tours are not included. Free Admission Days are sponsored by The Hartford.

June 16: Fran Gordon Memorial Garden Rededication Fran was a tireless promoter of Hartford and, especially, The Mark Twain House for many years. In 2009, a garden in her honor was established on the raised rooftop next to the patio. Fran died in 2014. The new garden, near The Carriage House, was created by Connecticut Master Gardeners under the direction of Laura Barnett Goldberg, 3:30 pm. Free.

June 19: Mark My Words: Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child Preston & Child are co-authors of the Agent Pendergast series, highlighting a special agent of the FBI, as well as Relic and the Gideon Crew series. Their works "stand head and shoulders above their rivals," according to Publishers Weekly. The will be joined by Chris Knopf, author of The Sam Acquillo Hamptons Mystery Series. The lecture will be followed by a book sale and signing. The Mark My Words series is sponsored by the Wish You Well Foundation and Connecticut Public -- WNPR. 7 pm. $25.

June 20: Kerry Driscoll Book Launch: Mark Twain Among the Indians Dr. Kerry Driscoll, a Mark Twain scholar and frequent lecturer, launches her new book, Mark Twain Among the Indians and Other Indigenous Peoples, described by the University of California Press as the first book-length study of the writer’s evolving views regarding the aboriginal inhabitants of North America and the Southern Hemisphere and his deeply conflicted representations of them in fiction, newspaper sketches, and speeches. 7 pm. Free.

June 21: Federico Balducci - Ian Bouras Guitar Duo will perform at 6 pm as part of Make Music Hartford. Balducci plays jazz guitar and is a student at the Berklee School of Music. Bouras is a guitarist and producer from New York City. This event is part of Make Music Hartford, which is organized by the Greater Hartford Arts Council. 6 pm. Free.

June 26: Mark My Words: Simon Winchester Simon Winchester is author of The Professor and the Madman, about the making of the Oxford English Dictionary, Krakatoa, and The Map that Changed the World. His new book is The Perfectionists, which traces technology from the Industrial Age to the Digital Age. Winchester will be joined by Mark Twain House Director of Education James Golden. The Mark My Words series is sponsored by the Wish You Well Foundation and Connecticut Public -- WNPR. 7:30 pm. $10.

June 27: The Trouble Begins: John Pascal on Artemus Ward, Gentle HumoristDuring his lifetime, Mark Twain was considered the preeminent American master storyteller and lecturer of humor. However, Twain’s literary achievement can easily overshadow the influences that led to his success, particularly the impact of Artemus Ward. Sponsored by Connecticut Natural Gas Company. Reception 5 pm, lecture 5:30 pm. Free.

June 29: Graveyard Shift Ghost Tours Filled with haunted history, dark tales, and Victorian traditions surrounding séances and spiritualism, these nighttime tours are as educational as they are goosebump-inducing. Participants will hear lots of creepy tales — and learn about Mark Twain’s interest in the supernatural. Sponsored by Tsunami Tsolutions. Tours begin at 7 pm. $25 / $17.
