Mass Layoffs May Hit Hartford Business
A business is expected to terminate 65 positions, according to a document filed with the state.

HARTFORD, CT — Beauty Enterprises anticipates it will lay off 65 workers in a move that is expected to be permanent, according to documentation filed with the Connecticut Department of Labor. The potential layoffs affect the company's locations at 150 Meadow St. and 131 Elliot St.
The terminations are expected to occur beginning Jan. 2 and will affect a variety of positions including shipping and receiving, accounts payable, buyers, customer service representatives, and other positions.
Beauty Enterprises is a distributor of multicultural beauty products, according to its website.

Layoffs have hit several Hartford businesses since the beginning of the pandemic, including a drone manufacturer which let go of nearly half its workforce last month. The Marriott Hartford Downtown also had mass layoffs last year.
