Moped Operator Dies After Hartford Crash: Reports

The 40-year-old Hartford man died Tuesday following his July 1 accident with another vehicle, police said.

HARTFORD, CT — The operator of a moped involved in a collision with another vehicle in Hartford last Saturday has now died, according to multiple reports.

According to WVIT Channel 30, the driver of the moped has been identified by Hartford police as German Fonseca, 40, of Hartford.

Fonseca died of his injuries at Hartford Hospital on Tuesday, police told WVIT.

WTNH Channel 8 reported that police were called late Saturday night for a reported collision between a moped and another vehicle at the intersection of Zion and Hamilton streets at about 11 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene and was cooperative, WTNH said, citing police.
