More Than 50 Displaced in 2 Separate Hartford Fires

Both fires broke out Sunday.

HARTFORD, CT - More than 50 people were displaced after two separate fires in Hartford over the weekend.

An early morning fire Sunday on Bond Street left eleven people displaced. Lt. Thomas LeConche told NBC Connecticut by the time firefighters arrived on scene the fire had already spread to the rear porches and second floor of the home.

The blaze was quickly brought under control and no injuries were reported.

A second fire Sunday afternoon in a 14 unit apartment building displaced 42 people, the Courant reported. Firefighters responded to the scene just after 11:30 a.m. and brought the blaze under control by noon despite the strong winds.

The Red Cross is assisting residents in both cases.
