All 80-plus pieces on exhibit will be for sale, with a cap set at $2,000 for each piece.
“I’m thrilled to continue to champion Parkville as a destination that promotes art and local artists,” said Carlos Mouta, chief executive officer and founder of Parkville Management.
The Hartford-based property management company owns and manages 1429 Park St., a mixed-use historic building just across the street from the company’s popular food hall, Parkville Market.
“This will be a place where artists can not only show their pieces, but make money; this benefits the artist, and, effectively, the neighborhood,” Mouta said.
The conception of this space is credited to artist Miguel Jose Matos, who is also the gallery director.
Matos curated the list of grand opening artists within his network, the bulk of which being Hartford natives or residents.
Exhibits in the 4,000-plus-square-foot gallery will be rotated out on a three-month basis.
To date, the growing waiting list includes more than 20 artist submissions, with up to five requests coming in daily.
The gallery will also serve as an event space to draw exposure to the exhibit and rotating artists.
The grand opening celebration is open to the public and will serve complimentary light bites from Parkville restaurants.
Guests are encouraged to raise a glass with a fresh brew from Dead Language Beer Project, also located at 1429 Park St. in Suite 115.
In addition, Petrolhead Cafe, located at 1429 Park St. in Suite 117, will offer wine and small bites.
