New Music School To Officially Open In East Hartford
The 'School of Rock East Hartford' franchise is hosting a grand-opening celebration on Sunday.
EAST HARTFORD, CT — A new music school dedicated to teaching children the finer points of rock and roll will officially open in East Hartford Sunday.
A grand-opening celebration for "School of Rock East Hartford" is slated from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22, at the school's site on 36 Main St., East Hartford.
The event will feature musical performances, free food and a visit from U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., according to School of Rock officials.

There will be a performance by the West Hartford House Band, school tours, free mini-lessons, food and more," reads an announcement.

School officials said the school has, technically, already opened, doing so earlier this year, but it already boasts 100 students.
The company actually pre-dates the popular 2003 movie "School of Rock" starring Jack Black.
School of Rock East Hartford Owner Larry Pearlstein already operates School of Rock West Hartford franchise on 20 Isham Road.
There are 10 other Schools of Rock in Connecticut operated by different owners.
School of Rock is a national franchise that operates music schools nationwide and the company actually pre-dates the popular 2003 movie "School of Rock" starring Jack Black.
