The City of Hartford and the Capitol Region Council of Governments have confirmed that Superpedestrian, the Link scooter operator in Hartford, has ceased its operations nationwide as of the new year.
"While difficult news to share, especially for nearly 800 riders utilizing the company’s LinkUp program, Superpedestrian’s departure is not the end for alternative transportation in Hartford," wrote CRCOG in a statement.

The city and CRCOG are working to identify the next steps for securing a new provider, CRCOG said.
“Superpedestrian has been a dedicated and responsive partner over the last two years and we’re sorry to lose them as our operator. Despite this setback, we are in a very good position moving forward. We’ve learned a lot through this process and, as we consider our options for a future micro-mobility program, we know that we are a successful market with strong ridership numbers,” said Caitlin Palmer, director of regional planning and development at CRCOG.
The scooters have been in the city since 2021 and there were nearly 500,000 rides and over 920,000 miles traveled on scooters.
"At this time, there are no specifics on what the process or policy for refunds will be. Users are encouraged to request a refund through the app," wrote CRCOG.
Those with questions regarding scooter service and payments should contact Superpedestrian’s at support@superpedestrian.com.
In response to the scooters going away, CRCOG recommends folks utilize CTtransit’s Hartford division.
