Plans Submitted For Giant Office Building In East Hartford: Report

RTX Corp. plans to build a 313,000-square-foot office building on the Pratt & Whitney campus in East Hartford, according to a new report.

EAST HARTFORD, CT — The town of East Hartford's Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously on April 10 to approve an application for a site plan for the demolition of the existing Pratt and Whitney OBB office building and the construction of a 313,000-square-foot office building and other improvements at 400 Main St., according to a record of votes filed by the town.

The Hartford Courant reports that RTX Corp. submitted the application and that the new office structure would not impact staffing. Local leaders applauded the planned new development as it signals a further commitment to maintain Pratt & Whitney's standing in East Hartford, the Courant reported.

The Pratt & Whitney website describes the RTX business as "a world leader in the design, manufacture and service of aircraft engines and auxiliary power units."
