Small Business Saturday At Hartford's Parkville Market, What You Need To Know

Known for its eclectic mix of tasty ethnic food offerings, Hartford's Parkville Market is now hosting local artisans as well.

HARTFORD, CT — Hartford's Parkville Market is always a nice place to grab a bite to eat, but on a day dedicated to helping up-and-coming entrepreneurs, it will be much more than that.

Parkville Market is partnering with "Makers with Moxie," an artisan and maker collaborative, to host a "Shop Local" event in honor of Small Business Saturday, which is this Saturday, Nov. 26.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1400 Park St. in Hartford and it will feature more than 25 highly-curated artisan vendors who will set up their shops in the upper level of Parkville Market.

“We are thrilled to be teaming up with 'Makers with Moxie' to support our local artisans and entrepreneurs,” said Parkville Market President Chelsea Mouta.

“Our market is home to nearly two dozen small businesses and we will always do anything we can to promote this wonderful community. We are excited to offer our guests an opportunity to shop local for the holidays.”

The Small Business Saturday event is the first of several pop-up shopping events to be hosted by Parkville Market during the holiday season.

Each weekend through December, the market is inviting artisans and small businesses from around Connecticut to set up shop on its upper level.

Parkville Market is the first food hall in Connecticut, housed in the former Capitol City Lumber Co. building.
