Scared Kids Call Cops From Bathroom While Mom Is Attacked: HPD
The incident occurred Sunday evening in Hartford.

HARTFORD, CT — While their mother was being assaulted and strangled Sunday evening, two children hid in a bathroom and called Hartford police, a move that led to the assailant being arrested, according to authorities.
The incident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. at an undisclosed location in the City of Hartford.
"The juvenile caller stated her mother was being assaulted and strangled by her boyfriend, who was in possession of a knife," wrote Hartford police in a post on the department's Facebook page. "Upon officers arrival, the accused ran from the officers and after a foot chase, the accused was taken into custody after a brief struggle."

According to police, Hartford resident John Jenkins, 36, illegally broke into the home and after an argument, "assaulted, strangled, and grabbed a large knife attempting to rob" the victim.
Police charged Jenkins with a host of offenses, including home invasion, criminal attempt at robbery, possession of a dangerous weapon, risk of injury to a minor and interfering with an officer, writes Fox 61.
