“We are incredibly proud to receive this prestigious recognition,” said Kimberlee Richard, M.S.N.,R.N., Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President Patient Care Services, Saint Francis Hospital. “It has always been our top priority to ensure patients are in the safest environment possible when they are in our care, but to be recognized for this work is an honor. In collaboration with our physicians and fellow clinicians, we worked tirelessly to pinpoint any and all areas in which we could improve, implementing the necessary systems to allow us to not only make changes when needed, but to ensure those changes are sustained effectively.”

The work to ensure optimal patient safety is ongoing. Most recently, Richards and her team of nurses and patient care service leaders identified the need to reduce the number of patients who acquired pressure ulcers during their time in the hospital.
