HARTFORD, CT — Staff cuts have been reported at WTIC-AM in Hartford, which included two prominent newsmen being let go, according to media reports.

The Laurel Connecticut reports newsmen Kevin Gorden and Greg Little were among those laid off, leaving only three people in the station's newsroom.

Inside Radio also reports Gorden and Little were affected by recent staff cuts implemented by parent company, Audacy, as it undergoes bankruptcy reorganization. The company told the publication its reduction in workforce affected 2 percent of its employees.

Pastor Will Marotti, host of "The Will Marotti Show," also announced this week his broadcast Friday would be his last for WTIC, according to The Laurel. Marotti, who hosted the 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. time slot, noted he was leaving for personal reasons that do not appear to be related to the layoffs.

A listener asked Marotti about the decision in the comment section of one of his Facebook posts for the show.

"It's just the right time for me to step back for family, church and my race team," Marotti said in response.

He also thanked his listeners for their kind words.

Marotti currently serves as pastor of New Life Church in Wallingford, which he and his wife, Ann, first opened for public service with a small group in Meriden in 1999, according to the church website.

The church grew over the next few years and later merged with two other churches before ultimately expanding onto a 56-acre campus in Wallingford in 2012.

The couple also plans to live and minister in the Meriden and Wallingford area for the rest of their lives, according to the website.
