Suspect Charged With Murder In Fatal East Hartford Shooting: EHPD

The East Hartford Police Department formally charged a 39-year-old suspect in the July 23 killing of a 40-year-old local man.

EAST HARTFORD, CT — Local police Friday announced the suspect in custody in connection with a fatal shooting in East Hartford last Sunday has officially been charged with murder.

The East Hartford Police Department said Keiran Walker, 39, has been charged with murder; illegal possession of a firearm; and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.

He was arraigned in Manchester Superior Court Thursday afternoon and is being held on $2 million bond, police said.

The ECHP cited "an intense investigation, and incredible work from our detective's and investigative team" for the murder investigation's outcome.

According to the EHPD, the victim of last Sunday night's fatal shooting was Sean Arcari, 40, who is believed to have been in a dispute with Walker.

The incident happened at about 7:57 p.m. Sunday, July 23, at 217 Burnside Ave., East Hartford.

Police said they were dispatched to that address for reports of a male party who was shot. That's when the EHPD discovered that the victim sustained a fatal gunshot wound.

On Thursday, the EHPD reported Walker was in custody, but that was related to a separate probe involving a warrant in New Jersey.

Friday's announcement was in relation to the incident in East Hartford on July 23.
