Traffic Warning Issued In Hartford As 3 Major Events Scheduled Saturday

Two athletic events and a high-profile concert have Hartford police warning of potential traffic issues Saturday.

HARTFORD, CT — A big Saturday is on tap in Hartford, with city police warning of traffic issues because of three major events going on at about the same time.

Police are warning visitors of traffic backups in the city, as two sporting events and one high-profile concert are slated to take place.

• The Hartford Yard Goats play the Reading Fighting Phils at Dunkin Park. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. The game is at 6:10 p.m. Dunkin Park is located at 1214 Main St. Hartford.

• Hartford Athletic is playing Memphis 901 FC in men's professional soccer at Trinity Health Stadium (formerly Dillon Stadium). Game time is 7 p.m. Trinity Health Stadium is at 250 Huyshope Ave.

• And Grammy-winning recording artist Lizzo is performing in a concert at the XL Center, 1 Civic Center Plaza. That concert starts at 7 p.m. as well.

"As a result of these multiple events, there will be heavier-than-usual vehicle and pedestrian traffic throughout the downtown area," Hartford police wrote in a statement.

"Traffic delays will occur due to the amount of attendees arriving for these events. We ask that you please plan accordingly and arrive early to enjoy a night in the city."
