
HARTFORD, CT — An 11-year-old boy sustained injuries after a tree fell on him in Goodwin Park Tuesday.
A tree marked for removal snapped and landed on the boy who was playing basketball with friends, according to NBC Connecticut.

The tree was slated to be removed, but was subject to a 10-day waiting period where people from the public can comment on whether or not the tree should be removed. A tree that poses imminent danger can be removed immediately, but that wasn't the determination.
There was no adverse weather when the tree fell, according to the Hartford Courant.
