Police: Driver Cited In TT Rollover In Hartford
The accident Friday dumped a truckload of hay all over an I-91 off-ramp, prompting its closure for much of the day.

HARTFORD, CT — The driver of a tractor trailer involved in a rollover in Hartford Friday that dumped hay all over a highway off-ramp was cited by police in connection with the accident.
According to an accident report released by Connecticut State Police Saturday afternoon, the driver — identified as Hercules Charles Quintavalle, 47, of Chase Mills, N.Y. — was cited for failure to drive in the proper lane.
According to the accident report, the driver was working for Chambers Trucking out of Jefferson, Maine, and operating a Freightliner pulling a fully loaded trailer full of hay.

Police said the tractor trailer was negotiating a sharp curve while taking the Exit 30 off-ramp from Interstate 91 South heading to Interstate 84 east in Hartford.
According to the report, the driver lost control of the truck, struck a guard rail and rolled to its side, causing the load to come free from the trailer and onto the exit ramp and the roadway below.

No injuries were reported, but the cleanup prompted the ramp's closure for most of the day Friday.
The incident happened at 10:19 a.m. and it wasn't cleared until well after 4 p.m. Friday, causing traffic backups in the area.
