UConn Football Stars Bond With Hartford Children

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford hosted 13 University of Connecticut football players for a special game night event with Hartford youths.

HARTFORD, CT — Hartford children recently enjoyed a fun evening with a major college football team for a game night event that featured many games other than football.

Thirteen members of the University of Connecticut football team participated in a game night with youths from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford.

The mentorship opportunity was made possible by "Bleeding Blue for Good," the NIL Collective of UConn Athletics.

Chase Lundt, Dal’Mont Gourdine, Rante Jones, Durell Robinson, Jarvarius Sims, Jay’Den Brown, Jelani Stafford, Malik Dixon-Williams, Pryce Yates, Skyler Bell, Ta’Quan Roberson, Tui Faumuina-Brown, and Victor Rosa were in attendance Monday night at the South End Club House.

The players challenged approximately 30 Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford members to play games including Madden Football, NBA 2K ’24, ping pong, pool, and chess, while taking time to connect with them.

“Activities like this offer our members the unique opportunity to meet and interact with football players they look up to. We’re grateful to UConn Athletics and Bleeding Blue for Good for their partnership, which allows us to offer these experiences,” said Sam Gray, Jr., president and chief executive officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford.
