VACCINATION AND MASK REQUIREMENTS ANNOUNCED FOR UPCOMING SHOWS ADDITIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY MEASURES IMPLEMENTED AT THE BUSHNELL
HARTFORD, CT — The Bushnell announced today that it will require vaccinations for all patrons, as well as staff, volunteers, performers, backstage crew, and all others entering the building through October 31, 2021. Masks will also be required for all, regardless of vaccination status, while inside the building, except while eating or drinking in designated locations.
Under this policy, anyone entering The Bushnell will need to be fully vaccinated with an FDA or WHO authorized vaccine and must show proof of vaccination at their time of entry into the theatre with their valid ticket and a government-issued ID. Fully vaccinated means the day of the performance is at least 14 days after the patron’s second dose of a two dose COVID-19 vaccine or at least 14 days after their single dose of a single dose COVID-19 vaccine.

The Bushnell will begin notifying ticket holders of these policies, via email, for performances through October 31, 2021. Additionally, there is reminder messaging planned over the coming weeks to ensure awareness and understanding of the requirements for entry.
Exceptions are being made for children under 12 and people with a medical condition or closely held religious belief that prevents vaccination. These individuals must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the performance start time, or a negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within 6 hours of the performance start time.

For performances after October 31, The Bushnell anticipates a review of these policies and may adjust as public health circumstances evolve.
The decision to require vaccination reflects what is happening at venues around the country including, and led by, Broadway. David Fay, President and CEO, said, “The successful reopening of live performing arts venues around the country and around the world relies on a vaccinated public. The Bushnell is committed to creating a healthy and safe environment for our audiences, staff, volunteers, artists, and crew, and we know that the best way to do that is to follow the science. Globally, vaccination has proven to be the most effective way to reduce transmission and remain healthy. We believe that this policy will offer clarity and reassurance to our patrons, affirming that The Bushnell takes their safety seriously. We can’t wait to welcome them back.” For additional information on this policy as well as specifics related to The Bushnell’s overall commitment to health and safety, visit bushnell.org.
