• IWC says yes to "Beaver Deceiver" for North Spectacle Pond (kentdispatch.org) — Kent’s Inland Wetlands Commission has approved emergency expansion of a non-lethal “beaver deceiver” system at North Spectacle Pond to prevent flooding of nearby properties on Segar Mountain Road. Working with the Kent Land Trust and Northwestern Connecticut Land Conservancy, the project aims to stabilize water levels while allowing beavers to remain in their habitat and continue providing ecological benefits.
