• Schools of fish trapped in Old Killingly Pond drawdown (theday.com) — Fish in Old Killingly Pond are now stranded in shallow puddles as the dam’s owner continues a major drawdown that has dropped water levels about 14 feet. The shrinking pond is exposing mudflats, threatening a fish die-off, and already causing problems for nearby private wells, while state environmental officials review the situation and a long-term plan to keep water levels permanently low.
   

• Acquitted man once labeled Vaughn riot 'puppet master' found dead (delawareonline.com) — A man whose remains were discovered in Killingly’s woods in April 2025 has now been identified as Roman Shankaras, and Connecticut officials say he died from a gunshot wound to the head. Shankaras was previously acquitted in a high-profile Delaware prison riot case, and investigators believe his body may have been in the Killingly area woods for about a year before being found.
