• Fire Destroys 2 Vehicles In Ledyard, Fire Officials Say (patch.com) — An early-morning vehicle fire on Long Cove Road in Ledyard destroyed two vehicles and came dangerously close to two nearby homes before firefighters knocked it down. Crews from Gales Ferry and Ledyard quickly contained the blaze, and no injuries were reported. The Ledyard Fire Marshal’s Office is now investigating the cause.    

• ECC H.S. baseball/softball: LaFleur pitches Whalers into ECC semifinals (theday.com) — Ledyard High’s baseball team advanced in the ECC Division II tournament with a 5-2 quarterfinal win over Griswold, highlighted by strong hitting from Carson Luther and solid pitching from Ethan Spinner. In softball, No. 2 Ledyard fell 11-7 to Waterford in the Division I semifinals despite a big night from Julia and Belle Bonser. Several other ECC baseball and softball teams also secured spots in upcoming finals.    

• Police logs — May 28, 2026 (theday.com) — A recent Groton Town police log notes that a 21-year-old resident of Merry Lane in Ledyard was among several people charged in separate weekend incidents involving driving and drug-related offenses. The list covers only arrests, not convictions, and includes information on how to look up case outcomes through Connecticut court records.
