Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation Hosts 18th Annual Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day Event

WHAT:
The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation will host its 18th Annual Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day event, bringing together families, children, and community organizations to raise awareness about children’s mental health and available support services.
Featured activities and resources include wellness and stress reduction activities, mental health and therapy resources, support services for children with special needs and disabilities, Tribal traditions and wellness activities, service animals, free vision screenings and eye exams, family activities, a photo booth, food, and more.
Participating organizations include United Community & Family Services (UCFS), the Ledyard Lions Club, Disability Rights Connecticut, Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Health Services, Mashantucket Pequot Behavioral Health Services, the Mashantucket Pequot Fire Department, the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center, and additional local health, wellness, education, and community organizations. High Hopes Therapeutic Riding, Inc. will provide animal-assisted therapy ponies as part of the event’s wellness programming.

DETAILS:
Children ages 14 and younger can participate in a scavenger hunt focused on mental health awareness and earn raffle tickets for the chance to win prizes donated by community partners, including Foxwoods Resort Casino and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.
