MASHANTUCKET, CT — All-Star Sumo will return to Foxwoods this month for a night featuring about 30 matches and professional sumo veterans from around the world.
The event is scheduled for Oct. 24 from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Premier Theater at Foxwoods. It follows All-Star Sumo's debut at Foxwoods last year.
Matches will be held in an open-weight format, allowing competitors of different sizes to face each other. The lineup includes wrestlers with more than 50 years of combined professional experience, including an Emperor's Cup winner and divisional champions.
The two-hour event will also feature traditional Taiko drummers.
Chef and restaurateur Masaharu Morimoto is also scheduled to take part in the event. Morimoto operates Momosan by Morimoto at Foxwoods.
